Sammy had two birthday "cakes."  One was "baby cakes," as Amber calls them (cupcakes) that we took to Sammy's Sunday School class.   The other cake was a disgustingly decadent "candy bar pizza" that we shared with our friends the O'Rourkes.

One of the highlights of Sammy's birthday was to swing a big stick at Barney.  At least, this was a highlight for his parents.

On his fourth birthday, Sammy decided he was old enough to climb our play structure to the top.  While up there with Sammy, Ryan belted out a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday."
